With Hull increasingly vulnerable to flooding, the brief was to make the gallery feel submerged while introducing maritime themes from the Ferens collection.
We combined digital projection, sound design, a cinemagraph and a central art installation to immerse visitors in changing coastal environments. Field recordings, music and environmental sounds including waves, docklands, sailing and sea life created an atmospheric soundscape inspired by the artworks on display and Hull's wider maritime and industrial heritage.

The soundscape used a mixture of field recordings and instruments to build an ambient atmosphere around the installation.
Sea, waves, underwater textures, museum ambience, dockland sounds, sailing and sea creatures all fed into a soundtrack inspired by the paintings on display and Hull's maritime industrial heritage.

We’re a team in every sense of the word, and work together across disciplines without ego to find the very best solution. With relentless enthusiasm for the work and an excitement about realising a vision.
