Cadent

History of Gas

Cadent, the UK's largest gas distribution network, asked for our help to bring their history to life.

Cadent wanted to make a feature of the atrium in their new Ansty Park head office and asked us to help bring their rich story to life. We delved into their history, as well as that of the industry as a whole, to discover how Cadent became the company that it is today.

We created a 'History of Gas' - a timeline documenting the evolution of the industry and Cadent's place within it. The project was a collaboration across our design, film and animation teams, with the exhibit featuring two attractor screens: one focussing on Cadent's current values, the other about what's next for the industry, looking towards a hydrogen future and beyond. To keep the content relevant, we used a layered information approach, combining interactive imagery, changeable QR content and video technology.

“Working with Fuzzy Duck has been collaborative and interactive. The story wall is now a welcomed permanent feature within the new offices and a daily talking point for visitors and colleagues. Great working with you.”

“Created to fit within a living wall, the team at Cadent had a vision for a timeline that sat as a centrepiece to the atrium of their new premises in Ansty Park. Bringing the artwork together within 3D pipes, relief photo frames and some LED strip lights for good measure, we created a statement that celebrated Cadent’s history. We worked with fit-out experts, Workhaus to produce two types of scenic pipework – a rusted cast-iron pipe, representing pipes used for gas transport before 1950, and a modern polyethylene pipe, procured straight from the Cadent stores. LED strip lighting fitted within the pipes added a futuristic feel to convey Cadent’s future vision for Hydrogen power.”
