Making Ouch! sound wonderfully weird

We explored every nook of the space and crafted wonderfully weird, wildly playful soundscapes that bring the BBC’s Operation Ouch! Senses exhibition bursting to life!

The BBC’s Operation Ouch! Senses exhibition takes visitors on a wild trip inside Dr Chris’ body from the ear canal to a giant sneeze finale. Fuzzy Duck were brought in to acoustically review the space and craft the playful, multi-layered soundscapes that power this adventure.

We balanced organic textures, music, voiceover and gloriously gross FX to give each zone its own personality, while keeping the whole exhibition flowing seamlessly. We also created bespoke audio for the interactives, adding extra energy and fun throughout. The result? A lively, coherent and wonderfully chaotic audio experience that captures the spirit of Operation Ouch! and throws visitors right into the adventure.

“Fuzzy Duck did a fantastic job as sound designers for ‘Operation Ouch! Brains, Bogies and You’. The soundscape they created was playful, exciting and really captured Operation Ouch’s sense of fun. The Fuzzy Duck team really understood our creative brief and who the target audience would be. It was a pleasure to work with the Fuzzy Duck team, their creativity, problem solving and flexible approach added so much to the development of this exhibition.”
